I have just met a very happy group at the coach stop. They were really buzzing – about the wonderful house, the history, tombs, glass, the shortbread – which they said was out of this world – carrot cake – which was declared moist and delicious – marbelled pillars, funerals, the dog, the green countryside. The list went in and on. I was told you were both delightful and very welcoming and what a fascinating day it had been. Thank you, both, so much. Just a brief note to say thanks to you both for a really enjoyable afternoon. We, all of us, found the church, house and your descriptions of their contents and your family history, a real pleasure. Invitation to View visitors
A big thank you for your kind hospitality and the yummy cakes with our coffee. Also a big thank you to your husband for a very interesting, informative and entertaining walk around your lovely gardens. He answered all our very many questions with knowledge and patience!

Thank you so much for a lovely morning at Mere House. Without exception we enjoyed the tour of your garden in the very welcome sunshine, hopefully mere house snowdrops will bloom in Bearsted next year. Delicious homemade cake is always appreciated by WI ladies, plus good coffee and tea! I have a feeling you might be seeing some of us later in the year.
We had such a wonderful time at Mere House. Your beautiful Gardens exceeded our expectations and the homemade lunch was truly delightful. Thank you both so much for making our day so special. We’re looking forward to coming back next year to see the snowdrops.

It was a perfect day in every way, from the most interesting talk to the lovely garden. The tea and cakes were superb and we were blessed with good weather. Everyone was relaxed and enjoyed sitting in the sunshine.

Thank you very much for allowing us to visit your wonderful garden, and for welcoming us so warmly. It was fascinating to learn something of the history of the house and garden, which you described so vividly and entertainingly. The flowers, trees and shrubs are beautiful, and are testimony to the obvious devotion given by your parents and yourselves to the planning, planting and nurture of the garden over many years.
It was quite idyllic, sitting in the brilliant spring sunshine, sipping tea and enjoying Mrs Wells’s delicious cakes, surrounded by swathes of daffodils and marvellous trees.
Thank you for a really memorable afternoon, for being such genial hosts, for fielding all the questions with such interest and good humour, and for sharing with us such a haven of tranquillity.
Mrs Lewis, Tunbridge Wells
We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, from the enthusiastic tour of the garden by Andrew, to the warm welcome you both gave us.

Thank you so much for allowing us to visit Mere House garden yesterday and we were so fortunate with the weather. Before long the daffodils will be a glorious splash of colour for you to enjoy! The tea was wonderful as expected and the W.I. Ladies do like their tea and cake as you no doubt observed. They all seemed to enjoy the afternoon and thought that the Autumn would also be a lovely time to visit the garden.
I so enjoyed the trip yesterday and the tea was wonderful. I really felt spoilt. A big thank you to you both for all the attention you gave us and going the extra mile to ensure it really was a very special Valentine’s day tea!

Thank you both so much for your welcome and hospitality, and also to Andrew for his very interesting tour of the garden and grounds. Everyone said how much they enjoyed it.
Hens Dancing, Maidstone
I brought a group of our carers to visit you in the spring and we all very much enjoyed the late display of spring bulbs. We were fortunate in having a mild sunny day which enabled us to have tea in the garden and it was lovely to see everyone relaxing, and lingering over in some instances a second – or even a third – piece of your wonderful homemade cake!

I just wanted to thank you on behalf of my group for our most enjoyable visit. Both you and your husband were so welcoming and it was an added bonus to be given such an informative tour of the garden.
